Today is the cutoff for policy-related bills passed out of the opposite house to be passed out of transportation committees. There are a few bills of interest to counties on the calendar for consideration. E2SHB 1332, concerning dangerous objects on county roads and bridges, is expected to be passed out of Senate Transportation. Another bill, SB 6345, allowing counties to request ferry capital improvement funds without creating ferry districts, is scheduled to be passed out of House Transportation today, as well.
Both the House and Senate Transportation Committees have passed their respective supplemental transportation budgets and await passage off the floor. There aren’t significant differences between the two budgets. The budgets make a few changes in project funding and timing. CRAB’s budget appropriation increased slightly to allow spending of available revenues.
