Thanks to everyone who was able to make it to this year’s 2018 WSACE Professional Development Conference in sunny Cle Elum Feb 7-9th. What a difference a year makes. Last year there was 3-ft of snow blanketing the resort turning Suncadia into a winter wonderland, however this year there was no snow and the sun and warmer temps made you think it was nearly Spring. For those unable to join, we will try and post the presentation materials by next week. We will be back at Suncadia next year again (mark your calendars — Feb 6 – 8th, 2019)!
We had great turnout and some fantastic speakers! John Ostrowski led things off on Wednesday Feb 7th and talked about the keys to interacting with Commissioners and Elected Officials and getting your message across. Thanks John for sharing your expertise!
Paige DeChambeau (WSAC) shared some helpful tips with getting the “Most Out of Your Post” when dealing with Social Media (and she’s been gracious enough to provide her presentation below). Special thanks to Paige for also coming with me to Cle Elum to ensure the conference went off without a hitch.
We were also very grateful to have the delightfully entertaining & engaging Jess Todtfeld visit us from New York and be our Keynote Speaker. Jess helped the group step out of their comfort zones and learn helpful tips to take control of positioning their messaging when presented with situations having to deal with the media. From exercises involving mock interviews, to group activities helping to brainstorm solutions, Jess was the perfect Ringleader!
Here is a link to post-conference materials that Jess has prepared for your continued success!
Special Thanks to our Conference Sponsor — Washington Counties Risk Pool (WCRP)!
