Please join us for the 2017 Annual WSACE Professional Development Conference in Cle Elum, WA from Wed, Feb 8th - Fri, Feb 10th, 2017. We have an exciting agenda & speakers planned for session topics including:
MANAGING AN INTERGENERATIONAL WORKFORCE (1/2 day) - This session will be led by a team from Pierce County. It will include a mix of discussions and exercises that will focus on our changing workforce. Consideration will be given to ensuring that knowledge is transferred as attrition and movement within the organization takes place. Also, ideas and considerations to aid intergenerational teams with more effective communication will be covered during this session.
SUCCESSION PLANNING (1/2 day) - This session will also be led by a team from Pierce County. The discussion will give attendees to opportunity to consider what skills their future workforce will need, how to attract new talent, and will provide some ideas to ensure a more sustainable workforce.
WSACE LEAN LEADERSHIP WORKSHOP (full day) This session will be led by John Dickson, Spokane County’s Chief Operations Officer. During this workshop, WSACE participants will learn the basics of lean and how it can and has been very effectively applied in government. Lean principles will be taught mainly through simulations, and participants will identify opportunities and plan process improvements in their own organizations. In addition, participants will learn the differences between traditional and lean leadership and how they can be even more effective leaders of continuous improvement activities in government.
We are offering a discounted rate for first time attendees / new WSACE members (however only 1 per county can get this rate, up to the first 20 spots). Registration after that for all attendees is the standard $500.00 rate.
